Emerald Rose

Emerald Rose
Emerald Rose presents an energetic mix of traditional Celtic music and original songs inspired by Celtic folklore and mythology. The CD incorporates a wide variety of styles, including traditional jigs and reels, fresh renditions of Irish and Scottish standards, songs of spiritual mysteries, and some lighthearted humor. Instrumentation includes vocals, guitar, pennywhistle, bohdran and world percussion. Songs featured in CelticMelt include Donald McGillivry, Maggie Lauder and Star of the County Down. "I highly recomend this album to anyone who enjoys music of the Celtic spirit with a modern air...tis truely enchanting to behold:)"
Emerald Rose will be my first "Aritst of the Month" on CelticMelt II (once work lets up). ed.
Oracle
From the author :
"This project took a great deal of time to research. The rest was easy. Celtic mythology is full of rich imagery, and it was difficult to choose just ten subjects. I must say that the story of Jacob's Pillow is my favorite, and is also the most incredible, though much of it can be found in different, but thoroughly credible sources. Be sure and watch for Oracle III. There's plenty of material left... all the best, Joe" (Editor's note : the cover art is truly beautiful, of course you cannot see much on the thumbnail. It goes to show that for all of the advantages that CD technology has over vinyl, it has diminished the role of cover-art, which is our great loss. I would have bought this CD if it was vinyl strictly on its enigmatic imagery).
CelticMelt features the fascinating Jacob's Pillow, and the luminous "To Eireann".
Steeleye Span
(I added Steeleye Span at the request of one my listeners, I haven't regretted it.)
"I have loved Steeleye Span since I was only a year old. My parents had two of their albums, this and "Parcel of Rogues." I have many fond memories with this album, and would NOT want to be without it. Those two albums are a piece of my life, my childhood. I am 15 now, and my love for them has not diminished, nor will it ever. I would reccomend this album, and Parcel of Rogues to anyone I knew, I cannot imagine life without either of those albums."
