Distant Suns 3 Issues

Distant Suns 3 is a major upgrade (like, duh), and as such will still have a few teething pains no doubt. I had four very good beta testers but I am sure things were missed by them. Both usability issues and bugs. With the usability issues a lot of things that “seemed like a good idea at the time” might not actually be, so let me know and they’ll go out in the first maintenance release.

And if you find anything that might be an, uh, “undocumented feature” log them here. One that has been reported already is that the toolbar gets clipped if you launch the app from an iPad while it is sitting face up. Launch it from an angle and it should work fine.

Another issue is that sometimes it starts up with no toolbars. One new feature is the ability to remove toolbars by hitting the large X in the bottom right corner to remove screen clutter. It seems like somehow the app might start up with the bar hidden in some cases. If that happens, tap the round marble-like button in the lower right corner.

I will try to answer all questions within a few hours.

Thank you for this useful application. I appreciated being able to download the “Lite” version so that I could have a much better idea of what I was purchasing.

I like the way it keeps track of the directional view at the bottom of the screen and the angle of view at the right side of the screen. Helps keep me oriented better than looking at figures for Azimuth and elevation. But later as I become more comfortable with locating objects, that information is at the top of the screen. Well done!

A few small suggestions I would like to see for future updates:
1.-I was surprised to see just two options for locations. I will be traveling in a few weeks and hoped to be able to put in ahead of time some of the locations I will be at so that I would not have to put in location information when we arrive. If you can add the option of putting in multiple locations, that would be a plus.

    2. If it would be possible, I would like an option for a little larger font for names on the screen…for those of us with “old” eyes.

Thanks again for a well done application.

Thanks for the suggestions. A large fonts option should be easy to add. As far as having a list of favorite locations, that could be added too, but is somewhat more lengthy. But both are on the list now.
