Distant Suns crash on Dec. 24/25 sessions

If you are experiencing a crash with the new version of DS over the past day or so I was finally able to track it down. (Everything worked fine on the two devices I tested on before release, but I just discovered it failed on the other two that I didn’t test on. Dang.)

It has to do with a special “Christmas Treat” I had added, which expires midnight today (the 25th). So just set your device’s date to the 26th and the app should launch fine. This is technically called a SBPE, or “Stupid Boneheaded Programmer Error”.

The next build should hopefully be out before next Christmas with the fix.

I’ll now go and crawl under my table and sob.

Nope, don’t know what the issue would be. I have heard that the 3G has had sync problems, so it’s out of my control.

Hi Gary, if by iPhone “2G” you mean the second generation of the iPhone (which was actually the iPhone “3G”…must’ve caused the marketing folks headaches with that), it doesn’t have a compass. Only the iPhone 3GS and above, and the iPad have actual compass hardware. That’s why the icon is grayed out.
